My reflection in His eyes - A journey in healing & forgiving the offender
Thank you for your interest in My reflection in His eyes!
We are committed to sharing our story with crime victims, their families and offenders. Our book, My reflection in His eyes, was born from journals and written on nights when sleep never came, written with tears falling freely, and written during times when I thought God wasn't listening.

Throughout the past four years since the crime committed against my youngest son, I have discovered that there is no true handbook to assist families who become victims of crime. In an instant, your whole world changes at the hands of senseless and irresponsible evil. It's hard to find someone to turn to, someone who can truly understand the day-to-day life of a crime victim and their families. You can get lost in the medical and legal system just as quickly as the crime itself occurred. As the crime victims mother, I needed an outlet to express my feelings and to seek out forgiveness. It was no easy task and I was taken to the very depth of my soul, day after day. I was torn between forgiveness and the daily reality of my son's condition. It tested my Faith in God, every hour of every day. Prayers were never-ending and when I felt like forgiveness would never come, God provided me a Shepard, to guide me from the plateau and over the mountain.

My heart, soul, prayers, emotions and many tears were poured unto the pages. For the grace of God, my only wish is to make a difference in someones life. So, allow me to share with you, my journey in forgiveness and healing.

Through this book I aspire to strengthen each person's confidence and joy in Jesus Christ - at every point in their life, and encourage personal and spiritual growth through prayer.    ~Shirley & Brian Shepler
